This is a little late in starting up as I was not sure if it was helpful.I have used the same format as last year when I taught the Standard 4 First Holy communion class.

STUDY FOR THE YEAR : GOD GIVES US THE CHURCH.
LESSON 1 : THE CHURCH IN GOD'S PLAN
THE TOWER OF BABEL - A story of how languages came to be and how due to mans' insatiable desire to out-do God (wanting to build a tower reaching heaven to prove their superiority and ability) God confused their languages and so the people were divided and went off to all corners of the world with those who were similar to speech as themselves.
War,violence and injustices are signs of disunity in our world caused by the sinful condition of humanity.When it becomes about ourselves and not God ,we distance ourselves from Him.We see modern day Babels all over the place example in magazines the glamourous ones look to portray themselves and their abilities or attributes to all to remain popular.It becomes about the creation's talent and not the Creator who gave them their abilities and talent.
Redemption:
Despite our sinfulness, God desired to save and re-gather all of humanity to himself again and that is why He sent Jesus.
Jesus came to to save us from oblivion and to bring us back to God by firstly gathering the Apostles as the first teachers of the faith , whom he gave authority to heal the sick,drive out demons and serve the poor and the needy.He also taught them to pray . By appointing Peter as the Head to govern the the Church Jesus appointed a successor ,He also ordered them to proclaim the Good News of salvation to all the peoples and gather them into God's family.After He returned to the Father He sent the Holy Spirit to guide the Church in her mission and make her Holy.
Only when we truly align ourselves with God's plan for us and in all humility ,can we build God's Kingdom on earth.
Begin by rooting out sin in our lives,so that we may always speak Jesus' language .Then when we find others who speak that language imagine what we will be able to build for the glory of God.
Memory Verse: Matthew 7: 7 Ask and you shall receive,seek and you shall find,knock and the door will be opened to you.
